Leave it to farmers to bottle a creamier more delicious milk made from PEAS. Yes, you read that correctly, peas. It’s milk with a bigger flavor and a smaller impact on the land. It contains 50% more calcium than dairy milk and 10 grams of protein per serving versus just 1 gram in almond milk. As if it couldn’t get any better, it’s vegan, non-GMO, and doesn’t contain dairy, lactose, nuts, soy, or gluten.
They have 4 delicious flavors to completely satisfy your milk needs: chocolate, vanilla, original, and unsweetened. My personal favorite was the unsweetened because I was used to the the unsweetened almond milk and to be honest I cannot tell the difference. The chocolate and vanilla are also good but very sweet so they are good for smoothies and baking.
Here are three recipes using my new milk alternative.
Chocolate Banana Protein Smoothie
Ingredients:
1 cup coffee 1 cup chocolate protein milk 1/2 banana ice
BLEND.
Buttermilk Waffles
Follow instructions on the back on your waffle mix. To make itvegan, replace the egg with one banana and butter with coconut oil, and the milk /water for plant milk protein.
The brown batter is the chocolate plant milk. The blue batter is blue majik milk capsule plus the vanilla plant milk. The orange is pumpkin spice. The pink is dragonfruit.
Dragonfruit Cheesecake Bites
To make the crust pulse in a food processor: (I read one someone’s blog that they used Lara Bars for the crust and it was a pretty genius idea.)
1 cup almonds (raw) 1/3 cup figs (soaked overnight) 1/4 cup vegan chocolate chips 1/4 cup coconut shreds 1/2 cup chocolate plant milk
Line cupcake tin with wrappers. Press mixture into liners.
Blend the following: 1 cup frozen Dragonfruit 1 cup cashews (soaked overnight) 1/2 cup unsweetened plant milk 1 tbsp maple syrup 1/2 cup soy yogurt
Pour mixture into liners. Then decorate with your favorite toppings.
Freeze for 1 hour. To eat let thaw for 5 minutes.
